Since June of 2025 the Minnesota Chapter Steering Committee has been focused on three areas:
- School Board Elections
- Education and Outreach
- Speakers
Information on our activities is outlined below. We are currently working on our goals for 2026 and we hope to get feedback from our community members during November as we prepare a plan for 2026.
School Board Elections
CACN – Minnesota chose School Board elections as an area on which to focus because Christian Nationalists are trying to influence school boards. We hosted a webinar on September 30. We provided a handout on talking points.
We have provided a list of upcoming school board elections on our Facebook page and provided links to League of Women Voters forums. We have reached out to pastors and faith community members in Anoka Hennepin to encourage voter participation. We are a nonpartisan group and cannot endorse any candidate, but we encourage all members to become familiar with candidates and learn to distinguish those who support all students versus those who are interested in parental rights and. banning books. We also shared editorials from the Star Tribune and other members on our Facebook page have shared information on candidates in their district.

We encourage our community members to become familiar with the School Board Integrity Project.. The School Board Integrity Project promotes candidates who will support all students. “The School Board Integrity Project is a values-based organization fighting back against extremism in our schools and empowering communities to deliver the leadership our public school systems deserve.” [from their webpage.]They have a list of endorsed candidates here.
If you want to see if you school board district is holding an election, a complete list of school boards and candidates will be found on the Minnesota Secretary of State page for candidate filings.
