About

CACN-Minnesota consists of individuals concerned about the increasing threat of Christian Nationalism to Democracy and to Christianity. It started with the support of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty (BJC) and is affiliated with BJC’s initiative Christians Against Christian Nationalism. BJC began in 1934, and it created Christians Against Christian Nationalism in 2019. CACN-Minnesota started in January 2024.

We created this group for Minnesota Christians, churches, and faith communities interested in working to advance understanding of what Christian Nationalism is, and why it poses a threat to both democracy and Christianity. We welcome Christians of all political views to thoughtful, theologically based discussions against Christian nationalism. We also welcome anyone not affiliated with a faith community interested in learning how to effectively respond to those who embrace the views of Christian nationalism.

This account is managed by an independent local group affiliated with the Christians Against Christian Nationalism movement. The views and content shared here do not necessarily reflect the official positions of Christians Against Christian Nationalism or the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Freedom (BJC).

Mission Statement

The mission of Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota is to embody Christ’s command to love one another and to repair current distortions of the Christian message. We will collaborate with Christians, people of other faiths, and secular groups to take actions to support these four actions:

*We love and care for our neighbors by showing compassion and empathy.

*We express love for all by respecting the dignity and value of every individual.

*We show kindness to all and demonstrate caring for others is the true source of joy and happiness.

*We support religious freedom while maintaining a separation of church and state.
